Düsseldorf, July 1, 2009. Gerresheimer AG, a leading manufacturer of glass
and plastic products for the pharma & life science industry, has sold its
Technical Plastics operations, which are not part
of the MDAX (Xetra: Nachrichten) company's
core business, to the FBH Group, Bad Soden, Germany.The Technical Plastics business has so far been part of Gerresheimer Wilden
GmbH. Complex injection-molded plastic components for the automobile
industry are manufactured by around 430 employees at plants in Germany, the
Czech Republic and Mexico. Sales by this business, including the tool
business which is also being sold, totaled EUR 74m in the financial year
2008. The purchaser is a company in the FBH Group, Bad Soden, to which
Thermoplast Technik Beteiligungs-AG, a medium-sized manufacturer of
injection-molded parts, belongs. Components for the automobile industry are
manufactured in five production plants. The purchase price including the debts taken over amounts to EUR 12m. The
transfer takes place with effect from July 1, 2009.
