Düsseldorf, July 2, 2009. FranconoWest AG (ISIN DE000A0KFRM5/ WKN A0KFRM) On the basis of the authorization of the Annual General Meeting of May 20,
2009, the Board of Directors of FranconoWest
AG reached a decision on July
2, 2009 to purchase up to 10,000,000 individual share certificates of the
company in the course of a public ter offer. In return, the company
shall offer those shareholders, who decide to accept this offer, payment in
the amount of EUR 1.00 for each share. The time limit for the acceptance of
this ter offer runs from July 7, 2009 to July 21, 2009, 5 p.m. (CET
summertime).The repurchase of own stock shall be carried out in accordance with the
requirements of the decision regarding the recovery and authorization of
the Board of Directors to purchase own stock, which was reached by the
Annual General Meeting of FranconoWest AG on May 20, 2009. Silvia Quandt & Cie. AG is mandated with the execution of the share
repurchase offer as accompanying bank. Further details pertaining to the planned repurchase are contained in the
